- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★A caravan was sited and obtained through Westfield Caravans Ltd 60 Chorley Road Blackpool Lancashire FY3 7XQ
Everything went well.
About 3 years later (and yes out of warranty) it was noticed that the springs on the bed in the front lounge area were severely rusted.Yes severely rusted.
It is appreciated that a unit cannot be guaranteed for life although the rust did seem premature.
Westfield Caravans of 60 Chorley Road Blackpool were contacted regards the issue.
Whilst there response was at all times very polite they:
A.Failed to accept that such rusting was a manufacturing default.
B.Whether the rusting was a default or otherwise they failed to point one in the right direction in order that one may obtain a replacement set of springs.
C Failed to offer what one would call goodwill.
in fact nothing was offered simply "an out of warranty" standard response.
I am not unreasonable and do not expect anything to last for ever although I am sure you will agree on reading this that a bag of replacement springs could maybe have been sourced by Westfield Caravans Ltd as a gesture of goodwill.
What worries me is if the issue had been much more serious and it is with this in mind that I feel I am unable to recommend Westfield Caravans Ltd
As a footnote I have today been clearing out my garage and have come across an old bed stand that has similar springs.I have removed said springs ( fantastic condition they were in) to see if they will fit my caravan.The springs are rust free and must be at least 20 years old. Says a lot about modern manufacture being poor I suppose.
My summary of Westfield Caravans Ltd is that I am unable to recommend them in this review.
